AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments offers a complete line of high-accuracy, portable calibration instruments that are DNV-approved for maritime use. AMETEK products include its m1M digital pressure gauge, MTC portable temperature calibrator, hand-held pneumatic and hydraulic pumps, and a variety of hoses and fittings developed for demanding calibration applications.
AMETEK instruments require less frequent calibration with a three-year calibration interval recommended for both the m1M pressure gauge and the MTC temperature calibrator. That extended calibration interval results in lower overall operating costs along with improved safety and efficiency. Applications include the calibration of devices used to monitor fuel and lubricating oil systems; oil burners and exhaust systems; sea-water cooling; condensers and purifiers; refrigeration systems; hydraulic systems; and safety equipment.
The versatile m1M pressure gauge typically can replace muiltiple conventional test gauges. It features an easy-to-read backlit display and rugged IP65-rated construction with shock-resistant circuitry and a hard polyester/ polycarbonate enclosure that enables it to survive drops onto hard surfaces. The m1M gauge maintains its accuracy across wide pressure (3000 psi/200 bar /20 MPa) and temperature ranges (-10 to 50°C / 14 to 122°F).
The MTC Series temperature calibrator is portable, easy to use and intuitive. It offers one-key, one-function logic and main screen access to such features as automatic switch test and auto-stepping, making it possible for users to stay in the control room or on the bridge while the MTC calibrator is located in the engine room next to the sensor.
The MTC’s innovative heating block profile heats up to 320°C/608°F in just four minutes and 650°C/1202°F in only 10 minutes. It employs a special MVI (Mains power Variance Immunity ) circuitry that continuously monitors the supply voltage for a constant energy flow to the unit’s heat elements.
AMETEK’s portable calibration systems are available in a rugged, protective carrying case that helps ensure the safe transport and storage of the devices. The case is available with any MTC Series temperature calibrator and m1M pump system. Pump system hoses feature newly patented Crystal Pressure Fittings made from 316 stainless steel and designed to operate at 10 000 psi / 700 bar. The pump systems include either a portable hydraulic hand pump, such as the lightweight T-600 Series for high-pressure applications or a pneumatic pressure pump, such as the T-900 Series, which has a fine adjust for precise pressure control.
